Representative installations demonstrating our combustion solutions in demanding industrial environments
A 45,000 m² dairy facility required 4,800 kW of steam capacity for pasteurization, CIP cleaning, and spray drying operations. The existing three single-stage oil burners (installed 1998) were consuming 520,000 liters of fuel oil annually with measured combustion efficiency of 87%. RielloPro replaced the burners with three modulating dual-fuel units (gas/oil) featuring 5:1 turndown ratio and flue gas economizers. Post-commissioning flue gas analysis confirmed combustion efficiency of 96.2%, and the facility reported a 22% reduction in annual fuel consumption within the first 12 months of operation. The dual-fuel capability provided supply security during a regional gas supply disruption in February 2024.
A municipal district heating network serving 1,200 residential units and 8 commercial buildings required a boiler plant upgrade to meet 2025 NOx emission limits under Lombardy regional regulations (DGR XI/3148). The project involved installing two 7,000 kW low-NOx gas burners in cascade configuration with a shared economizer module. Measured NOx emissions after commissioning: 42 mg/kWh — 47% below the 80 mg/kWh regulatory threshold. The cascade control system achieves a combined seasonal efficiency of 94.8% by automatically staging boiler operation to match the district heat demand curve, which varies from 30% base load in summer to 100% during peak winter conditions.
